Zoo Boo

This past Saturday, I took Anya and Finn to Zoo Boo at Como Zoo with my mom, my brother Jeff, and his 3 kids, Conlin, Sagel, and Clara Jane. Anya was, as you can probably guess, a....wait for it....BALLERINA. Surprise Surprise. It was packed, but a fun time for the kids. They got to walk through and get treats and prizes from people dressed as zoo animals, and various characters. Anya was happy to walk up to anyone and give them a high five for a treat. She also saw a little boy in a dragon costume and was mesmerized and wanted to follow him and touch his costume. She had a great time and was very good through it all.

Another resemblance

I was looking through recent photos of Finn and thought "that looks a lot like one of Anya's pictures". Sure enough when I found it and put them side by side here's what I saw...

2 months old!

Finn turned 2 months old yesterday. He also had a trial day at his new daycare. It's an in home daycare right on the way to work. The woman's name is Barbara and seems to be very nice. He did really good and he starts full time next Monday when I go back to work. I bring him and Anya in for their 2 month and 2 year appointments next Friday so I'll update with heights and weights and all that then. I've been waiting and waiting for him to wear this outfit and now he finally fits in it! I love that it's a hoodie.
Things he does now: He smiles more and more. Today I kissed him and he smiled. He bats at toys that hang above him, and is starting to coo and make cute little sounds. Still eating good, but we haven't had any more all nighters...

4 generations

I've been meaning to take a picture with my grandma Bev, my mom Kathy, me, and Anya for a long time. Here are four generations taken on grandma Bev's 85th birthday!

These are just some that I like of Anya with her pig tails. PS. you can get her to do just about anything if you tell her it's ballerina related. She's wearing her "ballerina" dress -it's pink and has a flower on it?

More sleeping all night!

WHOO HOO!! so now 2 nights in a row he has made it from 9:30pm until 7am! That's a full night of sleep! I really hope he keeps it up because I go back to work a week from Monday. Finn is also starting to smile a little more and is becoming more active. He likes to lay on his play mat and swing at the hanging toys. He actually hits them. He moves his arm slowly until he hits it the first time and then he bats at it to really make it go. Here is Finn in his U of MN Gopher gear. He's kind of smiling...

I'm a linebacker! He looks like he's saying "what? you want a piece of me?"
Anya has been doing good and is so talkative! It's so funny the things she says. She loves to sing in the car on the way home and have me sing songs. Last night, I was tired of singing and told her that and she said. "mommy, you tired? you need a hug?" it just melted my heart. Now everyday when I pick her up from school, she gets her lunch box out of the fridge and opens it up to find a snack to eat in the car. This consists of something she refused to eat for breakfast or lunch. The other day she chose to eat a container full of cold green beans in the car on the way home! Hey go right ahead and eat those beans!

Anya and Dan

Anya helped daddy rake the leaves in the backyard today. It was a little chilly so dan dressed Anya in her BSM red knights sweatshirt that we got from a friend at work. We got it last year and I've been waiting and waiting for her to be big enough to wear it!

6 week check-up

I brought Finn into the doctor last Thursday to get his second Hepatitis B shot. At 6 weeks, he weighs 13 lb 9 oz and is 23 and 1/4 inches long! That means that in just 3 weeks, he has gained 3 pounds and grew 1 inch! Wow, he is really a growing boy. He flew through the 0-3 mo clothes and is now comfortable in 3-6 mo clothing. He is also now in size 2 diapers. He's got what I thought was baby acne, but the doctor says that it is eczema. I guess I must have given it to him because the paperwork on it says that it's hereditary and usually comes from a parent that has allergies, specifically hayfever. Well, that's me. Sorry Finn. He's just going to have sensitive skin I think. I'm supposed to put lotion on his face to keep it from getting too dry.

Since the other day, Finn has had some more "all nighters" He's been going to bed between 9-10pm and waking up around 4-5am. I would love it if we could extend that like 2 more hours so that he goes to bed a little earlier and sleeps just a little later. That would be great.

Also the other day he smiled at me! It was legitimate too because I was talking to him and smiled big and he smiled right back. We smiled at each other for a couple of minutes. It's so nice when they get to that point and can interact with you.

oh, by the way, he is laying on Anya's bed in those pictures. I didn't want you thinking that the pink and green flowers and butterflies were his bedspread!
