Rolling over

I don't have any new pictures to put up, but wanted to jot down that Finn is officially rolling over like crazy now. Pretty much the second you put him down, he is rolling. He is very good at going from back to stomach and is getting better at going from stomach to back. He LOVES to eat. Every single thing we have given him he chows down. He is also really gumming toys and drooling, so maybe some teeth on the way?

Anya continues to be funny even when she is sick. She has battled 2 ear infections and a sinus infection and now she is on to another cold with a cough. Last night, I had something at school to be at, so Dan was home with the kids. He got Finn down for bed and then it was on to Anya (who lately has been a little more of a challenge to put to bed). She stalls and wants us to "Lay down together for 2 more minutes" But last night, she said to Dan, "Let's just talk for a little while" so she sat in her rocking chair while Dan sat on her bed. He asked her what her favorite color was and she said pink and then asked him the same question. When he said yellow, she agreed that was a good color too. Then she asked him what his favorite snack was. They agreed that carrots and strawberries are good snacks. Oh my gosh, she is too funny. This weekend, there is a cheerleading competition at the Mall of America, so I think we are going to take Anya to that so she can see real cheerleaders. I'm sure she will love it!

4 month check up and some other things....

Finn went in for his 4 month check up. Everything looks great! He weighs 17.5 lbs, and is 26 3/4 in long which is pretty much exactly the same as what Anya was. He has started eating veggies. He's tried sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, green beans, and peas and has loved them all! He is doing great eating from a spoon and you can't get it in fast enough! Finn is also having fun actually playing with toys now. He holds them and waves them around, passes them from hand to hand, puts everything in his mouth. When he is on his back on his play mat he can turn himself all around to get to all the toys and bats at them and grabs onto them. He continues to be a happy, laid back guy. He's all smiles. Even when he got his shots at the last check up, he didn't flinch or cry, instead he smiled when we all said "Good job Finn!". He's just amazing and a super easy baby. We can put him to bed without a fuss, he doesn't need a nuk, he eats well and sleeps well. He's just an angel!

Anya has been extra funny lately. She still loves bella ballet and cheerleading. Now we have "Just Dance" for the Wii so everyday we dance to a few of her favorite songs. She continues to amaze us. Today she had 7 m&m's in a bowl and counted them all. Then she ate one and counted them to 6 and so on....When she got to 3, she held up 3 fingers and said "now I have 3" , ate one, held up 2 fingers and said " now I have 2", ate one more, held up 1 finger and said "now theres one more left". Tonight she was walking around with a DVD and I heard her say "look mommy, it's a flashlight" I looked and the the light from the ceiling was reflecting off the DVD and making a circle on the ceiling. She would move it around and say "look now there's 2 of them, now there's 1, now it's far away...." The other day she was asking where daddy was and I said he was downstairs. She then proceeds to shout "Dan? Dan?" all the way across the living room and down the stairs. I guess I must holler for Dan a lot.

Christmas Song

Yesterday, Anya's Little Knights group sang at the end of our Christmas Liturgy. Last year she was only 1 and pretty much yawned and picked her nose the entire time. This year, she gave a good performance! Everytime she see's our choir director she bursts out singing this song. The other day Veronica(one of the daycare providers) took Anya with to the cafeteria and teacher's lounge. When Anya saw Nancy (choir director) she started singing and put on a show for a handful of teachers that were in there. Veronica said the teachers got up and started dancing around Anya while she sang. So funny. She has music and dance in her soul! Oh and she also is a big fan of singing while playing this little piano at daycare. If you are friends with me on Facebook, I put up a video of the performance and you can look for "Little Knights" and see videos of her there too. I think this weekend they are going to update a few videos of Anya. For whatever reason, I can't get the video to upload here on the blog. I'll work on that.

Snow and Christmas Party

Over the past weekend we got close to 18 inches of snow! This one gives you a good idea of how much we got if you think about the snow being up to the arms of the chairs!

This is across the street from us. You can barely see the door!

down the block a parked car is almost buried!

Last Sunday Anya had her children's Christmas party at my school. There are fun activities like decorating ornaments, face painting, prizes, and presents from Santa. Last year, Anya didn't want to sit on Santa's lap- she was kind of afraid of him. This year, she waited patiently...
and she wanted to talk to him, but was still not quite ready to sit on his lap.I'm not sure how much Finn weighs these days but I wouldn't be surprised if it was close to 20 lbs. He is wearing 9 month clothing and we have to supplement his bottles with rice cereal already (he isn't even 4 months yet!). 8 oz at a feeding wasn't doing the trick anymore, he would be hungry after 2 hours so, now with a few scoops of rice cereal mixed in, he is doing much better! Anya is still doing great at being a big sister. She loves to talk to Finn, tickle him, sing to him, and help me with little chores. Finn smiles so big when she is around. He likes to watch her dance and he listens to her talk non-stop!

November update

I don't have many pictures of me with the kids because it's usually me behind the camera, so these are nice to have.

Dan must have very dominant genes, because we have yet another child that looks strikingly similar to him. I should have taken this picture a few day's later when Dan shaved his head again.

Anya and her cousin Gabriel talking to Finn and making him smile.

Anya is at such a fun age right now. She is over all of that terrible two stuff. She is in general a very happy little girl. She loves to sing and dance. She must be going through a growth spurt because she is hungry all day long and eats every single thing I pack for her at school. Just so I remember, her favorite foods right now are oatmeal squares, strawberries, rice, broccoli, and green beans. Her favorite movies are anything Bella Dancerella, Dora Dance, and her DVD bible (she calls it "Jesus loves me movie"). She can take out the dvd she wants, open the dvd player, put the movie in, and press the button to get it to start playing! She is wearing 3t clothes and size 8 shoes! She loves playing in her room and will clean up and organize her toys in the right bins. She is just so much fun and has so much spunk and personality.

Finn is still doing great, he is still sleeping through the night. He is eating 8oz pretty consistently (I'm going to have to start rice cereal sooner than I thought I would). He's wearing 6 month clothes. He loves his bouncy seat and is starting to be able to hold and shake toys. He is also getting better at playing with his hands and gumming them. He is so smiley and talkative and just a happy laid back guy.
