Dance Party

So my mom found this Bella Dancerella Dance Party video and Anya LOVES IT! She wants to watch it about 3 times a day and it's starting to show because she says the lines along with it and knows a few of the dance moves. Here is a video of her dancing.

The Beach!

Molly called us up today and invited us to go to Bryant Beach. Anya and Molly had fun in the water playing with the sand while I sat in the shade with Molly's daughter Claire. It was nice to switch kid duty. Molly and Anya walked all around discovering different things. Anya had a blast and had NO difficulty going to bed after a nice bath to get out all the sand from her hair! Thanks Molly for helping to burn off Anya's energy for me! It was much appreciated!

34 week baby bump

I'm huge, I know.

What daddy's will do for their daughters

Here is Anya and Dan playing dress up. Then we had a dance party in her room. There was clapping, jumping, marching, twirling and Dan taught her how to bow and curtsey. It's so fun to watch them play.

Anya's big girl room

In preparation for baby Finn, I'm definitely in nesting mode. Today, with the wonderful help of Auntie Kelley and cousin Hailey (and of course Dan), we (they) moved up the bed and dresser that was in our guest bedroom into Anya's room and they also moved down the crib and dresser into Finn's new room. Anya's room is done now complete with switching up her clothes and toys, Finn's room still has some more work to do. We need to finish putting up the trim, closet, paint, etc and then we can assemble the crib again. I did at least sort through the clothes and toys we have for him so far, so that's a step in the right direction. Whew it was a busy day and now Dan and I will eat dinner and watch a red box movie!

Trip to Texas

Here are some pictures from our trip to Plano, Tx! One of the days we went to a little farm. Anya started by listening to a story in the little one room school house, and then we proceeded to walk around and look at the sheep, goats, mule, and chickens. They advertised that the kids could milk a cow, but it was a fake cow...we did not do that... She really had fun feeding the goat hay.

When it was too hot to be outside, I found a place called "Going Bonkers" that is an indoor play place for kids. It was super cheap ($1 for adults and $2.50 for Anya) so she and Dan crawled and played in the 3 story play place. There were slides, places you could bounce, bridges, tunnels, etc. I don't know who had the bigger grin on their face, Anya or Dan. They equally had a lot of fun. At the very end, she got to ride the teacups that she had her eye on the whole time! Let's just say she slept REALLY good that night!

We also spent a lot of time at a nearby park that she loved to climb around on.

Then we went to Fort Worth to the stockyards which was like an old west town. We saw a cattle drive with long horn cattle and cowboys. We did a little shopping and Anya got to go to a petting zoo and on a pony ride! She really got to do lots of fun new things on this trip and had a ton of fun!

Plano, Texas!

We are in Plano, Texas visiting Auntie Kari and Uncle Brian. We left last Thursday at about 6:30pm and planned to drive through the night unless Anya just couldn't sleep then we would stop at a hotel. The drive was a total of about 18 hours with all the stops (preggers had to go potty a lot) and we made it in one fell swoop. Anya did great. She was able to fall asleep in her carseat and only woke up when the car stopped (just like her daddy). She pretty much slept through the night-and at about 4am we were hungry and went through McDonald's drive through. I ordered Anya pancakes (3 huge ones) and she ate 2 and a half of them! We had also bought a portable dvd player and strapped it to the back of the passenger seat for Anya to watch movies when she was awake. She also played with sticker books and read some of her favorite books. We were all amazed that she made an 18 hour car ride with no problems at all! Then since then she has taken her regular naps and has gone to bed at her regular time. I packed a variety of toys for her, but so far all she has been interested in is pushing her baby around in a little umbrella stroller and playing soccer and basketball. Grandma and Grandpa Seppala bought her one of those nerf basketball hoops that hang over a door and she has been having fun with that. The thing that she really has gotten good at is kicking a soccer ball around. She actually dribbles it back and forth between her feet and then will wind up and kick it hard. I think we might have a soccer player on our hands..I wonder when we could start practice?
She also has a video called "The Letter Factory" (I recommend it) and it goes through all the letters of the alphabet and talks about the sounds they make and all that and it's pretty cute. Between that video and what we work on with her, she now can identify the letters A, H, I, K, M, O, Q, R, S, T, and W. I can write those and ask her what they are and she knows or I can ask her on her puzzle where the T is and then make the T sound and she points to it on her puzzle.
She is really talking a lot now. It's really crazy that we can have coherent conversations and then things she randomly says is so funny. The other day while I was driving, I had to brake fast because a car cut me off, and in the back seat I heard her say "Excuse me mommy" like she did something wrong!
I don't have pictures to put up yet, because we forgot to bring the cord to connect the camera to the computer, but we have some good ones of her at a farm we visited yesterday. Maybe I'll try to take some videos and put those up. I'll update again soon.
