Rare moment

This is a rare moment. Anya doesn't sit/lay down long enough to actually snuggle. So Dan made sure to get it on camera! I love those times when I can get them. She is such a sweet little girl. So the newest story was told to me by Miss Veronica one of her daycare teachers... She was changing Anya's diaper in the bathroom which is right next to the orchestra/band room. Anya says "I want to see the flute!" and at first Veronica didn't know what she said so she asked her to repeat it and she said "I wanna go see the flute!" and it took veronica a second to realize that you could hear the music and that there were actually girls playing the flute! So Veronica ran into the main orchestra director's office and said "this little girl can tell the sound of a flute and she's only one!!" Neither one of us know how she could distinguish a flute. I don't think I've even talked to her about a flute or read about one or told her that she was listening to a flute and neither has veronica, it could have been on tv, but I'm not sure! Very interesting. Anya has always loved music and could sing songs even before she could really talk. too funny.

anyway....Finn is moving around a lot now and it's so nice to feel him moving. Dan has been able to feel a little bit too! Finn is more of a roller with gentle swings and bumps, whereas Anya was doing an Irish Jig all day long-kicking and punching and twisting. It's going to be so fun to see what he looks like and how he acts!

Anya's first movie!

Our first video!!!

Thank You Auntie Kari and Uncle Brian for the video camera.

Anya got excited and skipped a few letters and numbers here when she counts
and when she says the alphabet, but they are the first on video so we had to put them up.

The family (soon to be updated)

Just a cute one of our little family. Dad, mom, daughter, and baby on the way. When Finn is born we will have to take one of our classic suburban family, father, mother, daughter, son, and golden retriever.

20 week ultrasound!

Today we had our 20 week ultrasound. Everything looked great. We could see the brain, heart, stomach, bladder, kidneys, hands, feet, arms, legs, face, profile, everything! Everything is there and where it should be. The heart beat was 162 and weight was about 13 oz. Here are some pictures...
Hopefully you can see it..... I'M A BOY!!!!
There's a nice profile shot. Here's one of him looking at us. His forehead is on the right, tummy and chin on the left, eyes in the middle, nose in between. Kinda freaky cause it's skeletal looking ,but still cool. One of his feet. The other foot was curled up under him (kinda crossed by his boy business).
We are very excited to welcome Finn Walter Seppala in late August!

Anya practicing

Anya loves her baby dolls and practices holding them, changing them, feeding them, rocking them, pushing them in the stroller, you name it! The other day I saw her "changing" one of her babies. She had the diaper off and was wiping it with an actual wet wipe saying "stinky!" I think she is going to be a great big sister!

oh, and I had a pregnant moment...in the last email Dan's sister's name is Kristin not Kristen. Sorry!

Anya and her cousin Gabriel

On Easter Sunday we went over to Anya's grandpa Dave and grandma Mary Jo's house. Dan's sister Kristen, her husband Paul, and their two kids Gabriel and Hannah were there as well. Anya and Gabriel always have fun playing together and they are so cute together. Here are some pictures of the two of them in "Grandpa's chair".

More Easter pictures

Here are some other pictures from Easter Sunday.

Easter

Here are some pictures of Anya this Easter morning. She woke up happy, had some pancakes, found her Easter basket behind the curtain (really hard, I know) and was REALLY good in church. The church website said that the nursery would be open today, but it wasn't. We were not prepared to have her in church with us. We didn't have any books or toys packed, we did happen to have some cheerios, but no water or milk. Luckily we sit by our friends Laura and Erik and they have a one year old Laney, so they were prepared! Anya did great, she sat on my lap or let me hold her. She was quiet and played with Laney and read some of her books. She only got loud the last 5 minutes right after communion. I think she thought we were leaving and then when we went back to our seats she wanted nothing to do with it. But WHEW! we were worried when we saw that nursery door closed, but she did great and looked so cute too! I love her hair today, all I did was wet it, brushed through the tangles, and pinned it to the side. It looks like I spent forever on it or curled it but that's all natural baby! I'm sure I'll take more pictures, but these are the ones I have so far. What a beautiful Easter day!

Como Zoo

Today was a beautiful day in the high 70's so Anya and I went to Como Zoo. She had so much fun seeing all the animals. She said hi to all of them and smiled and waved. We saw the monkeys first, then she said she wanted to see a lion so we did that. Then we saw the zebras, giraffes, seals, penquins, and fish. She said her favorite was the lion. She fell asleep in the car on the ride home and finished her nap at home. Then we headed off to Molly's to see Molly, baby Claire, and play on the playground by their house. We came home and played catch with Aebo and daddy, colored with chalk, had some dinner, and daddy is giving her a bath now! Whew! What an eventful day! I'm ready to sit down and watch some tv and most likely have a bowl of ice cream. Tomorrow we have a play date with her cousin Gabriel, so she needs her beauty sleep. Next week we find out if we are having a boy or a girl, so we will keep you updated.
